Sketch - Santa Maria / Saint Mary

Este pequeno desenho foi feito numa hora...pastel em papel vegetal, tamanho A4. Foi ontem à noite, quando teimava em não dormir...bem, depois de o fazer, deitei e foi que nem pedra...acho que estava a precisar de pintar.
This little painting, pastel on vegetal paper, was done yesterday night, when I just couldn't sleep...well, afterwoods, slept like a baby....think of all this, I indeed needed to paint.

Rui Chaves

Este foi o meu primeiro quadro a óleo. É o meu sogro "pai" Rui Chaves Antunes. Um grande homem e colega. Obviamente que ele agora não tem a barba e está mais velho, em idade, do que no quadro...Esta imagem retrata o tempo em que esteve em Angola....terra que ele continua a amar.... Ele foi pintado a preto e branco, porque sinceramente, ainda não me ajeito a pintar rostos a cores...especialmente a óleo... 1998

This was my first oil on canvas. The man you see is may father-in-law "father" Rui Chaves Antunes. Great man and collegue. Obviously his now an older man without the bear. This image belongs from time he was in Angola (Central Africa). Done this in B&W, because I'm not yet confindent in coloring in oil...1998

Sereia / Mermaid

Esta pequena escultura foi feita também no curso no CENCAL (Caldas da Rainha) e foi primeiro classificado num trabalho final...feita em barro.... titulo: "Amor Impossível" 1994

Esta peça para além de tudo, foi classificada na nota máxima e o que me supreendeu ainda mais, foi quem a deu: Mestre Herculano Elias, que foi a primeira vez em dez anos que deu a nota máxima....

Another sculture done in a workshop at CENCAL (Portugal, Caldas da Rainha - local school of ceramic arts), first classified on final art work. Made in clay. Title: "impossible love" 1994

Plus, this sculture got the maxium classification and the most surprising thing was from who gave me: Master Herculano Elias (local legend artist), who gave it for firts time in ten yeras of teaching....

Caveiras / Skulls

Esta duas caveiras foram pintadas em papel vegetal com pastel. Foram simplesmente concebidas por encomenda para posteriormente serem colocadas no capôm de um carro....
